SLJ Day 1 Swimming With The Fish Week 2

Activity 1 Surfs Up
Swimming at the beach is one of my favourite summer things to do.
Here is a photo of me swimming at a beach on my holiday in Perth.

Activity 2 The Great Taupo Cycling Challenge
As my support crew I would pick one best friend Jennae because
she is funny and because she is really supportive.
I would also pick my other best friends Rebekah and Grace.
I would pick Grace because she is kind and loud in a good way, and
I would pick Rebekah because she is always in a good mood and
enjoyable to be around.

  1. Hi Hannah!

    Just me again! :)

    Activity One:
I LOVE swimmng at the beach too :)
That's so cool that you have been on a holiday to Perth - How long did you go for? Was it your first time?
I haven't been to Perth before but I have heard amazing things ...Is there any activities you could recommend if I go?

    Activity Two:
You have a great Taupo Race Team!! Sounds like you will be riding an awesome race :)
I am glad you have people on your team that will keep your morale high - that's really important when you're getting tired aye - I am sure they would be cheering for you the whole time :) Dream Team!!

Do you think you would like to train up for the Taupo race one day? It's a loooong way to go - how long do you think you would have to train for?

    Activity Three:
Great work finding the facts here Hannah! You might just want to double check fact 4 - If you find some new information, make sure to update your post! :)

Can you believe that there is a 65 year old fish living in the water out there?! So old aye?
I think it's pretty amazing that we have only (apparently) explored about 5% of the ocean floor ...that's a lot of ocean floor left over, there might be some amazing sea beasts we don't even know about!!

Great work on these activities Hannah!

    Nga mihi,
    Ellee :)

    1. Hi Ellee,
I have not been to Perth before but I was born there but we moved to NZ so my mum could be closer to her mum. We went for two and a half weeks. Something that you could do if you go to Perth is, take the boat to Rottenest Island, walk though the city, or take the Double Decker bus tour through the city.

I don't think I want to do the Taupo race it is a bit to far for me. What about you would you do the Taupo race? I think that you would have to train for a year to half a year. A long time. :)

I know I did not know that there was a 65 year old fish out there either!

  2. Hi Hannah

Swimming at the beach is my favourite thing to do as well in the summertime. I like it when its hot weather but I also like swimming in the rain as well. I love how you added a photo of you swimming to show you love doing this activity.

You are on my support crew as well. Do you like bike riding? Do you enjoy it? I would want to do the lake Taupo cycle race as well because I like trying new things.

These are such cool facts I didn't know. Make sure you check the 60 fun facts website on the Summer Learning Journey and check fact number 4.Did you know that sharks have eyelids but some can't use them, so what the point?

Keep up the amazing work Hannah!

  3. Hi Hannah,
Great job on completing this activity! I like how your favourite summer activity is one that will help you cool down, this is important as it can get really hot during the summer time. It is good to see that you didn't fall for fish fact #5, as fish in groups are called schools and not classes.
