SLJ Day 4 Spectacular Spectacular Week 2

Activity 1 Planes Trains And Automobiles
I would want to go on the boat. I would want the boat because
I like boats and I like the view you can get from them. I would
prefer the boat over the helicopter because if you are in the
helicopter you can only see from above, but if you are in a
boat then you can see the side of the mountains.
So I think that I would prefer the boat.

Activity 2 It’s All In The Name
  1. Devils Goo
  2. Greens Pool *
  3. Alien Pond

Activity 3
I am picking selfie #1.

The roaring crowds cheers and shouts echo in my ears.
The seats are full and the the game is ready to start.
My friends are on the end of their seat waiting for the game to start.
The whistle blows and I take out my phone.
Nudging my friends arm asking for a photo.
He says yes and gets our other friends to join in.
Waiting for a good time to take a selfie we wait for one of the
teams to score a goal. “GOAL!” everyone shouts, as the crowd
erupts in cheers. “NOW,” I shout and all my friends jump into
the frame. “SAY GOAL ON THREE,” I yell. Finally I have got the
perfect selfie.

  1. Hi Hannah!

    Just me again :)

    Activity One:
Thank you for sharing how you would like to travel through the Milford Sound. You have listed some really great reasons why you would like to take a boat!
What kind of things do you think you might see from the boat?
Any animals you would like to spot?
Have you been on a big boat trip before? Any cruises? I haven't travelled like that before but I have heard it is pretty amazing... like being on a floating hotel! :)

    Activity Two:
These are some great new names for the Devils Bath. :)
I like that you have taken the description of the bath "It is a neon green pool of stinky water." and used it to inspire some new names!
I think Greens Pool is a great choice for favourite too. :)

Have you been to Rotorua fo a visit before Hannah?
The geothermal pools and geysers are pretty awesome if you get the chance to visit!

    Activity Three:
This sounds like a very exciting sports match! You have done a great job of describing the excitement from the crowd and your friends. :)
I like that you all waited for the perfect moment to tak your picture... especially the "Say goal on three!"
Awesome job with this story Hannah, I really enjoyed reading your prespective on the selfie!

Great work Hannah, another day of activities complete! :)

    Nga mihi,
    Ellee :)

    1. Kia Ora Ellee,
I have been on a boat trip in Perth Australia, in the ocean to a place called Rottnest Island, home of the Quokkas! :)
On a boat trip through Milford Sounds you might be able to see caves and cracks in the mountains, you might also be able to see some water birds up close! You also might see some other land animals, or maybe some small fish in the water.

I have never been to Rotorua, but I would love to go. Have you been there before? I'm glad you like my names for the Devils Bath! :)

Do you have a favourite place in NZ to visit?

  2. Hello Hannah

These are great reasons for you to go to the Milford Sounds by traveling in a boat.

These are strange and unique names to make sense more with your work you could include the image you are working with in this task as well as the task with the selfies.

Other than those keep up the great work Hannah!

  3. Hi Hannah,
Great job on completing this activity! I like your name Aliens pond, it certainly looks like the green that martians are shown to be. Have you ever been in been in a helicopter before? You might not want to miss out on it if it is a new experience!

    1. Hi Alex,
I'm happy that you like the names I came up with for the Devils Bath. I have not been on a helicopter but I would love to try it out, although it might be a bit scary.
Have you been in a helicopter for a ride before?
